Introduction


Avascular necrosis (AVN), also known as osteonecrosis.It’s characteristic feature is the death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply. In some cases the pathologic mechanism includes interruption of blood supply to bone. The reason for this may be direct trauma, compression , or thromboembolic obstruction. Infarcts are seen in bones. Commonn is end arterial circulation.
